Join our GoodReads online book discussion club, Nothing But the Truth, the Non-Fiction Book Club.  Two titles will be selected per month that the group can read and discuss. Titles will be available from the library catalog.

The Tuesday Club: Family History Fundamentals

The Tuesday Club is an informal group of family historians who meet each Tuesday from 12-2 pm to research genealogy.  Interested in researching your family history?  We can help.  Whether a beginner or a family historian with years of experience, this friendly group is open to all.  Use the library resources such as Ancestry.com and information from our genealogy library.  Hitting a brick wall?  Visit the Tuesday Club for help. 

 

Writers' Group

Established group of adult writers of various levels from the community looking for some new members.
The writers' group meets monthly, exchanging pieces of writing and giving constructive critiques.

Beginners German language classes

The Swansea Free Public Library presents Beginners German language classes with Christel Amaral.  

Learn a new and exciting language  including basic words and phrases. Learn how to order food and drinks, tell time and ask for directions. Learn all about German Culture and History.  This language conversation group is great for those interested in practicing speaking in another language. This class is open to all levels of experience.  

 

Dog Mushing! Iditarod Talk

Meet Noggin, the sled dog, and her human, Karen Land, Iditarod racer at this all-ages library event! Karen will talk about being a musher and relate her experiences in the Alaskan Iditarod sled dog race from Anchorage to Nome, held every March.
Karen will share her great stories and photos, and will be bringing her sled dog, Noggin, her racing sled, and the rest of her Iditarod gear!
