The Reference Room
The Friends of the Library are a volunteer organization dedicated to enhancing the Swansea Public Library's services to its patrons and encouraging community use of the library. Funded by annual dues and fundraising activities, the Friends support programs for all ages and provide materials and equipment not covered by the annual operating budget.

This fiction book club meets the third Friday of each month. We bring our lunch and discuss all types of fiction.

Our mystery book club meets the first Wednesday of each month. We enjoy all kinds of mystery and crime books from cozy to historical to modern thrillers.
This month's selection: The Burning by Jane Casey
Quilter Diane Preble will cover the basics of quilting to get anyone started. Pick up the list of materials needed at the library. Tools and sewing machines provided. Diane will teach what type of fabric is best for quilting, good first projects,and beginning techniques and tricks that will result in a beautiful quilt, wall hanging, or table runner. There is no fee, but please sign up at the library as size is limited.
Join staff from Mass Audubon's Oak Knoll Wildlife Sanctuary as we explore the wildlife around the Swansea area. The program starts with a talk and activities, then we will explore the Village Park Trails behind the Library. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Swansea Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency. Register online or call 508-223-3060
The Swansea Knitters meet each Thursday from 12-2 pm to work on projects. Whether you are new to knitting or working on your own projects, join us for friendship, fun and a fantastic good time in the Reference Room. Registration is not required.
The Tuesday Club is an informal group of family historians who meet each Tuesday from 12-2 pm to research genealogy. Interested in researching your family history? We can help. Whether a beginner or a family historian with years of experience, this friendly group is open to all. Use the library resources such as Ancestry.com and information from our genealogy library. Hitting a brick wall? Visit the Tuesday Club for help.
Coloring club for adults is a relaxing way to start the week. Find you inner artist using pens, pencils and many different coloring pages. We provide the materials or you can bring your own. Coloring club takes place every Monday from 12-2 pm
