Tales from Beatrix Potter

Peter Rabbit and Squirrel Nutkin fans take note: Betsy Bray, an international authority on Beatrix Potter presents a lively look at the remarkable life of this acclaimed children's author/illustrator. Her  talk includes the various roles played by Beatrix Potter over 77 years of her life, as author illustrator of 23 children’s books to her later life as sheep farmer, land conservationist, entrepreneur and community activist.  Betsy has been a Member of The Beatrix Potter Society for 38 years and served as the first overseas Trustee in the London based Beatrix Potter Society.

Flowers & Showers Story Hour

The Swansea Free Public Library preschool Flowers & Showers story hour takes place every Wednesday, for children up to age 5 from 10:30-11:30AM. Come join the fun with stories and crafts celebrating Spring.

PLEASE NOTE:  Story Hour takes place at the Christ Church Hall at 57 Main St. 

All children who attend our programs must be accompanied by a parent, grandparent, or caregiver.

Dog Mushing! Iditarod Talk

Meet Noggin, the sled dog, and her human, Karen Land, Iditarod racer at this all-ages library event! Karen will talk about being a musher and relate her experiences in the Alaskan Iditarod sled dog race from Anchorage to Nome, held every March.
Karen will share her great stories and photos, and will be bringing her sled dog, Noggin, her racing sled, and the rest of her Iditarod gear!
 

Holiday Story Hour - Cancelled

The Swansea Free Public Library preschool Holiday story hour takes place every Wednesday, for children up to age 5 from 10:30-11:30AM. Come join the holiday fun with stories and crafts celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas.
