I was really late to reading The Maid, but I am glad I did! Molly Gray is a maid in a fancy hotel, and she takes her job very seriously. Molly is one to take meanings very literally and misread social cues. She is naive and a little gullible. The author does a great job of showing the world through Molly's eyes, leading to a lot of compassion for her plight in life. We learn how Molly structures her life and why she finds it so fulfilling to work as a maid.
Somehow, Molly finds herself as the prime suspect in a murder that takes place in the hotel. She has to learn which coworkers and hotel guests she can really trust. The story is fast moving, and Molly finds herself in a few problems that she needs help navigating. I really liked Molly Gray, and I look forward to reading more of the books in this series.
