eBooks available to Swansea Library cardholders

Swansea Library offers free access to a large collection of eBooks and audiobooks through the shared collection of Sails Library Network http://sails.lib.overdrive.com Now Swansea Library patrons have access to even more titles through a program called OverDrive Advantage.

With OverDrive Advantage, Swansea Public Library has purchased additional eBooks and audiobooks exclusively for its patrons. Coupled with the shared collection, the Advantage program provides access to even more popular eBooks and audiobooks, with additional copies of popular materials.

To gain access to Advantage titles, Swansea library cardholders should simply sign in to the website with their library card upon arrival. Once signed in, the Advantage titles become visible along with the shared collection. Patrons can easily browse for titles to borrow and enjoy on Windows® and Mac® computers, or on mobile devices like iPhone®, iPad®, Android™, and Windows Phone. Users can read eBooks on the go with Kindle® (US only), Sony® Reader, NOOK™ and more. Once the lending period ends, titles will automatically expire and return to the collection. There are no late fees.

Introducing Freegal Music!

How Freegal Music Works:
  • Library users have a weekly download limit of 3 songs, and have a streaming limit of 3 hours a day. You will be able to keep track of your downloads in the upper right corner of the site. Every song has a sample clip you can listen to before you download. You must be logged in to enjoy the sample clips.
  • The downloads on this site are all in the MP3 format with no DRM, and videos are in the MP4 format with no DRM. This service will work on almost any computer, player, tablet or smartphone. The Freegal Music mobile app is free in the Apple® App Store and in Google® Play
  • Music videos will cost you 2 of your allotted downloads. If you do not have 2 downloads available you will not be able to download a music video.
  • The search engine is both a simple and advanced search, and will return results primarily by the album that the song is from.

Enjoy the site!

Freegal Music gives you access to over 8 million songs from over 28,000 labels including the Sony Music catalog of your country
